Easter

Easter this year fell on the same weekend as General Conference, which made for a nice lazy Sunday, spending half the day in our pajamas. I was a bad mom and really didn't do anything leading up to Easter this year. I bought eggs and a dyeing kit and we didn't even end up doing that. I'll really have to step it up next year as Halle gets older. Anyway, I just told Halle the night before that the Easter bunny was going to come and bring her treats and then also tried to explain the real meaning of Easter and why we celebrate it. I'm sure she was really confused and didn't understand a word I was saying, but at least I felt better that I at least tried to explain it. Haha!

Halle was really excited to find her Easter basket (well actually I got her a pail) with candy, toys, and treats inside. This little girl loves her cars, so I had to include one as well as some sidewalk chalk and some other little toys. Here she is checking out her loot.

Everytime I tell Halle to smile, she makes a totally cheesy face. This is actually a semi-good one compared to others I took that day.

Later on in the day we went over to Jeff's grandparents house for dinner and the grandchildren/ great grandchildren searched for their See's Easter boxes. Jeff's grandma gives these to the kids every year. Usually they are hidden outside, but since it was pouring rain, the adults hide them inside for the kids to find around the house. Hals thought it was a really fun game as all of the kids ran downstairs to find their boxes. She got even more excited when she discovered what was inside!

The whole group!

All of the kids immediately broke into their boxes right after I took the group shot. Halle as you can see was no different. She ate way too much candy! I guess she takes after her mom. Luckily she didn't get sick, which I was pretty surprised about. And, Dad I made sure to brush her teeth two times that night to try to get all of the sugar off. :)
