I really can't believe that Ryan is One!! This past year has flown by! It seems like I JUST had him! It is fun to look back at when he was so small and tiny. He was (and still is) such a sweet baby!

We had a party for Ryan on Saturday at Jeff's parent's house. It wasn't anything big or fancy by any means, but it was fun to have our family there to help us celebrate his special day. My dad and Megan even drove up for the party which was so nice of them! We ate lunch, the kids swam a little bit, we opened presents, and then sang to Ryan. Simple, but just what I wanted.

I had been eyeing these cake pops I have seen on various cooking blogs and so I decided that this would be the perfect time to try them. They are actually really easy to make and I think most people liked them. I wasn't a huge fan, but I think I would be if they were chocolate covered. I used a vanilla coating, which was good, but not great.

Some of the party guests. Emily and Halle were good sports and wore the party hats...Grant and Ryan not so much.

Jeff, the birthday boy, and Jeff's grandpa, Paul.

The little kids enjoyed some swimming. Halle, Emily, and Scotty are quite the swimmers. They all took swim lessons a few weeks ago and have really improved. They love to jump into the deep end and swim to the side. It is fun to watch them.

Our birthday boy! Halle and Emily opened all of his presents for him. He, of course, wasn't very interested in opening them, but liked to see what was under the wrapping paper, so it worked out well. He got some pretty cool toys! Thanks everyone!!

I made a whole cake just for Ryan so he could dig into it. He has had cake before and has loved it, so I was sure he would be all over an entire cake placed right in front of him. It turned out that he hardly even touched it. Maybe he was too full from lunch or was shy with everyone watching him? I kind of want to try it again and see if he does the same thing.

Trying a little bit of it....

Still not liking it even with a spoon.

It was a great day! Thanks to everyone who came. Happy Birthday to our Super Ry! We sure love you and are so glad to have you as part of our family!

Happy Birthday Ryan! He's adorable. I love the photo of him sitting amongst all the presents. That little smile is epic!
Awwww, so cute. I know, I can't believe he is 1 already, either!! I wish we could have been there to celebrate with you guys! Looks like a great little party. Those cake pops are adorable . . . I should try those for a baby shower I'm throwing next month. You said they're pretty easy?? And funny how Ryan hardly touched his cake . . . . James was the same way. I kind of wanted him to dig right in and make a big mess, but no. oh well!
I love the birthday post! I'm glad Ryan had a fun birthday. It's cute how he just picked at the cake, at least you didn't have to spend twenty minutes scrubbing cake out of his clothes. I think Hals is ready for the swim team. I can just see her being the valley champ. I'm glad Meg and dad were able to go.
I forgot to say the cake pops are so cute!!
