Washington D.C. Trip

A few weeks ago we flew to Washington D.C. to see Jeff's mission. He has been home for almost 6 years now and had never been back, so we thought it would be a good summer to go and see all of his areas and meet some of the members/converts there. Halle did amazingly well on the flights as well as all of the driving in the car. We divided the days up by going to each of Jeff's areas and checking out where he lived, places he tracted, and also visited some of the people in his wards there. We also spent a few days in downtown D.C. checking out all of the sites there. Jeff's mission actually covered Northern Virginia, so we spent most of our time there. I had only been back east once and that was when I was 11, so it was nice to go and see part of the East Coast. I couldn't believe how green it was and how many trees there were. It was really beautiful there! I did not enjoy how humid it was there though. I am definitely not used to that. We had a really good time though and I know that Jeff was really happy to be able to see all of his areas again and catch up with some people.

There are a ton of pictures so brace yourself...

Jeff and Halle next to the Washington D.C. South Mission Office.

This was one of the apartments that Jeff lived in for 6 months of his mission. That window was his bedroom.

This is the ward that he was in the longest. He spent 6 months here and then returned the last 6 weeks of his mission to this same ward.

The Washington D.C. temple was gorgeous! I had never seen it before. As you can see we went on a pretty rainy day. It rained a lot while we were in Virginia.

This is what Halle looked like a lot of time while on our trip. She was such a good girl.

And this is what Jeff looked like a lot of the time while on our trip. Our GPS that we brought was a life saver! It got us everywhere!

Cute little Halle checking out Washington D.C. This was at the Washington Monument.

A family picture. This was at the World War II monument. It is fairly new I think. Both Jeff and I had never seen it. They have all of the 50 states represented and then a huge fountain in the middle.

At the White House.

The Angulo family! This was one of Jeff's favorite member families. They invited us over for dinner one night. They were so sweet!

The Arlington National Cemetary.

At the National Zoo. I never knew that there was a zoo in downtown Washington D.C. It was really cool!

I just thought this was a cute picture of Halle and Jeff. Halle loved to just get out and run around. She did such a good job in the car, so we were happy to let her out and be able to walk around a little.

That looks like a great trip. We've made it out to DC a couple times and there's always so much to see. I'd love to make it back to my mission grounds, but Taiwan is a little bit more of a trip.
