The Last Two Weeks

I can't believe that Ryan is two weeks old already! At the same time though it is hard to believe that it has only been two weeks. Ryan is such a sweet and mellow baby. He really only cries when he is hungry. He still doesn't sleep very well at night, but hopefully that will change soon. At least he falls right back to sleep after I feed him- an improvement over Halle at this age. Oh how we love our little boy!

He had his two week appointment yesterday and weighed in at 9 lbs 3 ounces and was 21 inches long! He is definitely our growing boy! He also has some amazing neck control for his age. The doctor kept commenting how unbelievable it was that he could hold his neck up so well for only being two weeks old. I guess he just wants to look and take in everything around him.

Halle has adjusted really well to the new baby so far. She loves to check on her baby brother and gives him kiss after kiss. She is a great help already! The first thing she wants to do in the morning is to see her baby brother. She is a great big sister!

I'm doing really well also. The recovery hasn't been a breeze, but it has been A LOT better than with Halle. Every day gets a little better and I have a lot more energy than I did the first time around. My mom was able to come and stay with us for about a week and she was a life-saver! She played with Halle all day long-which is no easy task, cleaned, made dinner, did our grocery shopping, and took care of the baby so that I could take a nap every day. I don't know what I would have done without her! Thanks mom!

Halle and Ryan. Hals loves holding him and oddly enough he seems totally content every time she does.
Sleeping away. This is his favorite position. He loves his arms right by his head.

A picture with his eyes open. Here he is just hanging out on the couch.

Yay! more pictures! He definitely already looks older. It's hard to tell who he looks like . . . who do you guys think? I'm so glad your mom could come for a week, I'm sure that was such a relief that she was there! We can't wait to meet him and to see him in person!

What a good big sister Halle is! I am glad you are recovering well Kath. I love Ryan and especially the picture of him sleeping with his hands by his head because it reminds me of my Lukey and Lynnea Mae. They both loved to sleep like that too. Thanks for the new pictures. Love you all!
