A Visitor and a Visit Home

One of my best friends, Karin, came to visit us over President's Day weekend. I hadn't seen her since June, but we picked up right where we left off. Don't you love friends like that?! My kids LOVED her and she was so nice to play with them the whole time she was here. Halle had her coloring, reading her stories, playing dolls, and anything else she could think up. I had her helping me with my Primary class and teaching me how to curl my hair with a straightener-although I've never been able to do it as well as she did...not even close. Thanks for being such a good sport, Kare! We loved having you here! Come visit us anytime! :)

A few days after Karin left the kids and I headed to my parent's house. Halle had the week off of preschool and Jeff was really busy studying for his Broker's Exam, so it seemed like the perfect time to go. We had a great time and it was nice to just hang out at my parent's house, run errands with my Mom, and stay up late talking and laughing with my Mom, Dad, and Megan.

For one of Megan's Young Women Value projects she made a skirt. My sister, Amelia helped her and then she made one for her little girl, Brooke, and one for Halle. I brought Halle's skirt and made Megan wear hers to church the Sunday we were there to match Halle. Haha, she is such a good sport! I thought they looked adorable!

Ryan really warmed up to my parents this trip. He has always been really attached to Jeff and me and has never wanted to go to anyone else. Megan has definitely won him over though and from the looks of this picture, so has my dad.

Another reason why I wanted to go home was to go to my Dad's Silver Beaver Award Ceremony. I guess the Silver Beaver is the highest Scout award you can receive. My father-in-law actually received this award too a couple weeks ago. Jeff and I are proud of our Dads. :)

My cute parents.
Megan is the best aunt there is! We couldn't find anyone to watch my kids, so we took them with us and hoped for the best. I knew that it could go either way and luckily for me they both did really well. I did have to stand up in the back with Ryan for the last half hour or so, but I'll take that! Megan sat with Halle and helped entertain Ryan too! I couldn't have done it without her!
