Last Wednesday was Jeff's 27th birthday! I was totally unprepared for it, but I think that Jeff still had a good day. I made his cake that morning after having to run to the store two times and then when I went to wrap his presents I couldn't find any tape. I decided that I wasn't going to go to Smith's for a third time in one hour, so I put all of his presents in the most random gift bags and used purple tissue paper, because that was all that we had. I got Jeff a tennis racket and tennis balls, Family Feud DVD game (since we always want to play games together, but don't have that many), and some clothes. He never told me what he wanted, so this is what he got.
After opening presents we headed off to the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake. It was a beautiful day and it wasn't that crowded, so it was perfect! Halle really liked it this time. She especially liked the cougar and all of the monkeys. Her favorite thing by far though was this train that takes you around the zoo and shows you different animals. She kept saying, "choo-choo!" over and over again. Even now the train is the only thing she talks about when we ask her about the zoo.
After the zoo we ran some errands and then met up with some friends and family at Iggy's Sports Grill for dinner. Jeff had never been there before and since it was a Sports Grill he was all over it! We then had some family over for cake and ice cream to end the day.

Opening up some gifts in the morning. Notice the baby gift bag and purple tissue paper.

At the zoo...

Jeff requested a chocolate round cake for his birthday. It turned out pretty ugly, but tasted good-which I guess that is all that matters.

Happy Birthday Jeff!

Haha Kath! I'm glad to hear you're as imperfect as the rest of us. Those bags and tissue paper are really funny! It looks like a fun day. Did you like Iggy's? I don't even know what a sports grill is. Yes, next time you come here (which is soon) we should go to Bonfante. Halle would love it. Plus they have a train!
Happy Birthday Jeff! Glad you had a great day! fun to see pictures. I love Halle's red top, it's adorable.
I think a sports grill just means that they have a lot of big tvs up where they show sports games. Iggy's was pretty good, nothing great though.
It looks like a fun b-day to me. Kath your hair is getting long, I think ours is the same length. We're bringing our tennis rackets up to Utah, so if Jeff wants to play some really awful tennis players we'll be ready. I mean awful- you've seen us play.
